LA Galaxy San Diego Add to Development Academy
Los Angeles San Diego has expanded its U.S. Soccer Development Academy as it welcomes Boys U13 and U14 age groups. The club competed at the U12 level last year and recently added four teams to U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy set to take the pitch this summer.
Youth Soccer News: LA Galaxy San Diego (LAGSD) has announced the club will be expanding its U.S. Soccer Development Academy program in the 2017-2018 season with the recent addition of the Boys U13 and U14 age groups. The expansion news comes shortly after LAGSD’s girls program was accepted to the Girls’ Development Academy, which will kick off this summer.
“We are delighted to have our boys academy status expanded to the U13 and U14 levels,” said LAGSD Boys Director of Coaching, Glenn Malone. “It’s a reflection of the outstanding job coaches Steve Cowell, Paul Ritchie and Louis Hunt have done with our current BU12 Academy program and our commitment to aligning our philosophy with the Academy.”
First accepted into the U.S. Soccer Development Academy program last year at the U12 Boys age group, LAGSD’s Academy program has grown exponentially.

“We’ve worked hard to build a staff that buys into our curriculum, philosophy and vision for developing players at all age groups,” said LAGSD Director of Coaching, Michael Duggan. “It’s rewarding to see that commitment to player development recognized by US Soccer and we are excited for all of our players who will get the chance to be a part of this journey.”
