NPSL’s FC Buffalo Announces Partnership With WNY Flash Academy
WNY Flash Academy and FC Buffalo have announced a partnership for the NPSL club to serve as the top division for the boys academy. The relationship with FC Buffalo provides a top tier pyramid goal for boys within the youth soccer organization.
Youth Soccer News: The Western New York Flash Academy has announced an agreement with National Premier Soccer League side FC Buffalo as official club affiliates. FC Buffalo will serves as the top of the pyramid for the boys side of the WNY Flash Academy.
The Flash Academy is an inaugural member of the Boys Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and will begin competition in Fall 2018.
“Our goal is to completely change the soccer landscape in the WNY area, and we know that a partnership with a top organization like FC Buffalo is a huge step in the right direction for our entire academy – especially on our boys side,” Vice President Aaran Lines explained. “FC Buffalo provides a great platform for collegiate and post-collegiate male soccer players to perform on, and is very integral to the soccer community in wester New York. We look forward to the positive impact not only on FC Buffalo, but with our Academy and shaping the next generation of young men and women both on and off the field.”
- All Flash Academy players will receive season tickets to FC Buffalo’s 2017 NPSL season.
- FC Buffalo players will help instruct youth players at WNY Flash camps and clinics.
- The Flash Academy will have a presence in FC Buffalo’s game days.
- Sahlen’s Sports Park will continue to play an integral role in FC Buffalo’s development.
Regan Steele, Flash’s Assistant Junior Program Director of Coaching, is one of many pre-existing connections between FC Buffalo and the Flash.
“The opportunity to form a partnership with the Flash ahead of this season is beneficial to FC Buffalo on so many levels,” said FCB co-owner Nick Mendola. “We were impressed with the dedication, ambition, generosity, and aims of the Flash during this process, and look forward to the future.”
FC Buffalo was founded in 2009 and is entering its eighth campaign in the NPSL. The club has helped produce several MLS draft picks as well as a number of players who have moved on to play professionally in other American leagues as well as in Germany, Australia and Finland.
