Christian Pulisic is Youngest US Soccer Player of the Year
Christian Pulisic has been voted as US Male Soccer Player of the Year.
Soccer News: Christian Pulisic not only scored the winning goal in the last Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim, the Borussia Dortmund midfielder was also voted as US Male Soccer Player of the Year last week.
In the aftermath of the US MNT’s failure to qualify for the World Cup, Pulisic has risen above the negativity, determined to look ahead and focus on the positive.
At only 19 years, he is the youngest player ever to have been given this award. Talented, ambitious, he is also a thoughtful, reflective player who never forgets to give former teammates a shout out and to encourage others.

In a recent article Pulisic wrote reflecting on the aftermath of the US MNT not qualifying for the World Cup, for Players Tribune, he says:
“The path to the U.S. winning a World Cup — it doesn’t start with having “more talent.” It starts with developing the talent that we already have, in the right way.”
Christian Pulisic feels grateful: “It is really a great honor. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I would never have imagined that something like this could happen.”

Pulisic is also determined to be a teenager. Back in May he made sure to attend his high school prom, even though it meant cutting it close in order to make it in time for the US friendly match against Bolivia. He is one of the only people who can say they went to prom the night before they scored their first USMNT goal!
The US Male Soccer Player of the Year is voted by association and club coaches, current and former national team players as well as media representatives.
Pulisic received 94% of the votes.
